So I've been talking to a lot of folks lately as we get bored of the Heroics and start look towards raiding about what's going to happen. I figure we've got two raid teams that will be kicking it into gear and I'd let folks know what to expect from the 2nd Team.
First, let me say that I never want to see us get so focussed on raiding that we stop having fun with the rest of the guild. That being said, the purpose of the second team is to kill shit. The thrill of the kill.. gear is secondary and still fun but your purpose is to kill everything that stands in your way. I want to create a team who's sole purpose is to give the rest of the guild the ability to brag about our progression.
How is this done? This is the hard part. Bottom line is to run with the second team, there's going to be some requirements.
1) Raid Awareness - Can you follow instructions, adapt to the fight, know where you need to be and what you need to be doing.
2) Attendance - Being able to know what skill sets we will have and be able to anticipate what each other is going to do is huge. Not everyone can make every night, that's not a problem, but overall we need you to attend the majority of the raids.
3) Preparation - More than just food and flasks. Watch the vids.. check out the strats... watch as the fights are going on and provide constructive feedback on wipes. Long as we do better the next time, wipes are ok.. if they aren't.. then people lose interest.
4) Internet connection - A good one is a must.. I know a lot of folks may not have control over it and it varies from night to night but again, looking at consistency, not the weird one offs.
5) Gear - Notice it's at the end.. yes, you need to have a 340 GS but that's just to make sure you don't get one shot or need more heals than we can allow the healers to give. It's also something that can change easily enough.
This style isn't for everyone and we will develop more raid teams that are a little more lax in their approach for more casual raiders, but if you're interested and are of the same mindset, you're more than welcome to join up.
